Christine Silverstein is the director of The Summit Center for Ideal Performance, conveniently located in Bergen County New Jersey, about 20 miles west of New York City. Dr. Silverstein holds a doctorate in education (EdD) from Teachers College, Columbia University, a master’s degree in Public Administration from Long Island University, and is a graduate of The City College of New York School of Nursing (summa cum laude). She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. In 2018, she was inducted into the Columbia University Nursing Hall of Fame. Dr. Silverstein is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the International Institute of Restorative Reproductive Medicine (IIRRM).
She is a registered nurse who specializes in behavioral health, performance coaching, and clinical hypnotherapy. For more than 24 years, she has used her expertise in working with children, teens, and adults to provide them with the necessary tools to achieve their goals in academics, athletics, health, performing arts, and interpersonal relations. Dr. Silverstein’s unique programs aid clients to tap into the subconscious mind to unlock their full potential as individuals who are resilient and are able to successfully handle life challenges.
Metamorphosis: Fertility Enhancement Coaching™ is an innovative program offered by Dr. Silverstein for clients who would like to overcome fertility challenges. She is a certified counselor for The Fertile Body Method™, which uses hypnosis and other mind-body approaches for fertility. Dr. Silverstein has combined the principles of the Fertile Body Method with her own proven Performance Model™ to provide effective tools for success to her clients. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and its Mental Health Professional Group, as well as, a member of its Complementary and Alternative Medicine Special Interest Group.
As an outgrowth of her successful work with clients who have had challenges facing surgery and other medical procedures, Dr. Silverstein has developed a program, Operation Heal™.This program is specifically designed to improve recovery time and promote rapid healing, as well as teaching skills for mental preparation for the procedure itself.
Dr. Silverstein offers a specialized Train to Regain™ program for stroke recovery that utilizes the power of the mind to help clients regain physical function. She has presented a seminar on this creative program in a professional forum.
As a psychohistorian, Dr. Silverstein studies the history of nursing science and psychiatric-mental health nursing development. She recently published a paper in the Journal of Nursing Education and Practice on the development of critical and creative thinking in nursing. Her interest is how nursing history influences current healthcare practices and its implication for the future of nursing.
